AE boys overwhelmed at Posen

POSEN — Arenac Eastern played well for three quarters, but a disastrous fourth quarter cost the Eagles dearly in a 75-51 North Star League boys basketball defeat at Posen.

The Eagles trailed 51-47 after three quarters, but Posen went on a 26-4 tear to close out the game.

Eastern led 33-29 at the half.

"We led at halftime, and then the wheels fell off," said AE coach Bob Morgan. "We had 21 turnovers in the second half alone. I was very disappointed in our guard play."

The Eagles (1-12, 0-9 NSL) also missed a number of easy shots and were just 7-of-18 at the free throw line.

Graham Morgan had 21 points and 22 rebounds, with Kevin Kovacs and Sean Norton adding eight points each.

Scott Couture scored 25 and Shane Hentkowski 21 for the Vikings (4-9, 4-6).
