AGS boys take first in tri-meet action

OSCODA — AuGres-Sims won nine of 17 events in its season-opening meet at Oscoda on Wednesday to outpoint the Owls and Alcona, 71-50-42.

The Wolverines' winners were Kendall Rollins, Alex Lutz, Nathan Trapp and A.J. Baker in the 4x800 relay (9:47.39); Nate Jennings in the discus (106-0) and shot put (43-0.25); Dakota Thomas in the high jump (5-6); Baker in the 1600 (4:51.54), 400 (55.95) and 3200 (10:41.29); Nathan Trapp in the 300 hurdles (47.71); Alex Lutz in the 800 (29.15);

Oscoda's winners were Justin Cain in the 100 (11.57); Tom Schonfeld, Cain, Dylan Kachur and Derek Boston in the 4x200 (1:37.03); Schonfeld, Cain, Kachur and Boston in the 4x100 relay (48.00); Boston in the 200 (24.00); and the 4x400 relay (3:54.48).
