About 400 still waiting for power


ARENAC COUNTY — Approximately 75 percent of Consumers Energy customers that lost electricity during stormy weather Nov. 17 had their power back on by Wednesday morning.

According to the Consumers outage map, about 400 people were still without power as of 11 a.m. Nov. 20. More than 1,600 people lost power in Arenac County Sunday evening.

The majority of those who were still waiting for their electricity to be turned back on Wednesday were located in the Turner area, where 163 were still shown to be without power, and in northern Deep River Township, where power was still out to 141 Consumers customers.

Around 66 customers in Mason Township and 43 near Twining were without electricity as of 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The outage map also showed a few outages in Sterling.

Most of the power outages affecting Arenac County were reported at around 5 p.m. Sunday.
