Adams Township names new trustee
ADAMS TWP. — Adams Township has named its new trustee, following the resignation of former Trustee Theodore Scheid.
Supervisor Dan Fisk said Mark Revord, who has been a member of the Adams Township community for a few years, was chosen by the board to fill the vacant seat until elections in 2014.
Fisk said three people, including Revord, attended the township’s meeting Jan. 10 to select a new trustee, and each gave a verbal resume about why they wanted the job. Revord’s interest in being involved in the community’s government played a part in the board’s decision, however.
“He just moved into the township a couple years ago, but he has attended almost every monthly meeting since he’s been here,” Fisk said. “When we talked to him previously about it, he said he enjoyed coming to the meetings and he likes to stay involved. If someone wanted it worse than him, he’d continue to be a spectator.”
“We thought that he was involved and knowledgeable, and we liked him,” he added.
Fisk said as a trustee, Revord’s duties will include participating in the monthly board meeting and approving the bills. Trustees in the township also tend to help with light maintenance around the township hall.
Revord’s first meeting as a member of the board will be Feb. 14.
