Area police departments searching for brothers

STANDISH — The Michigan State Police and the Arenac County Sheriff’s Department are continuing to search for two brothers who they believe are in the Standish Area.

Thomas McPherson, 15, and Jonathon Michael McPherson, 12 have been missing from an Auburn residence since July 21, after a family custody hearing in Arenac County Family Court.

Arenac County Sheriff’s Department Undersheriff Donald McIntyre said the father of the brothers has contacted the sheriff’s department.

“He (the father) contacted us Wednesday, July 27 and told us he believed his sons were in the (Standish) area,” McIntyre said.

McIntyre said the sheriff’s department has investigated one location where they believe the brothers may be staying.

“There is one address that we are checking on at this time,” he said.

McIntyre said the family of the brothers have placed flyers in the area in an effort to locate the McPhersons.

An call to the Bay City State Police Post was not returned.
