Arenac Banishes Midwinter Boredom with a Winter Bash Weekend
The Bay Shore Club’s fourth annual Winter Bash weekend was in full swing Saturday, February 12. Snowmobilers from around the county and beyond could be seen hauling their machines down Sagatoo Road in Standish as they were on their way to the Bay. Events began at 10a.m., with a poker snowmobile run lasting until 6p.m., nine holes of ice golf, and multiple raffles to enter. The club house was teeming with volunteers as event goers stepped in from the cold to check out booths put on by the Wertz Warriors, Saganing Eagles Landing Casino, AuGres-Sims Baseball and Softball teams, Arenac County Crime Stoppers and The WELL. Although official opening ceremonies were not set until 10a.m. Sunday morning, the cheerful roaring of engines made it clear that the snowmobiling festivities were already underway.
