Arenac County Relay For Life to hold tip night in Alger
ALGER — Hank’s of Alger will host three Relay For Life teams April 18 in order to raise funds for the charity organization.
Event Chairwoman Denise Dunn said the event, Hankering for a Cure, was the brainchild of Hank’s owner Marian Seder, who has supported team Family Ties for the past few years. The bar will offer their usual menu items and Thursday specials, and customers will be served by members of the teams Family Ties, Family Matters, and Miracle Revolution. All the tips received that night will go toward the Arenac County Relay For Life, she said.
“We will be selling our first ever Relay For Life cookbook “Cookin Up a Cure” and (will) have luminarias available to purchase for the July 13th ceremony at 10 p.m.,” Dunn said. “There will be a silent auction of items donated by some of our generous supporters.”
Dunn said DJ Stacy of Moonlight Productions will be providing music during the tip night, and with a western theme for the relay this year, she said customers can expect the relayers to wear western-themed outfits and “kicking up their heels” to some country music.
The event will run from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Hank’s of Alger is located 844 N M-76 in Alger.
