Au GRES — A little more than one week after interviewing two city manager finalists, Au Gres City Council members cast silent ballots for the two candidates Aug. 6, with John Stanley of Au Gres receiving the majority of the votes.

Stanley received three votes and Dale Wiltse, the other candidate interviewed July 29, received two votes.

Mayor Larry Malace said city council would present Stanley with a contract proposal Aug. 7.

According to Mayor pro tem Bill Borushko, the contract calls for a salary of $750 per week. He said the proposed salary was based on an assumption that Stanley would work 25-30 hours per week. Borushko said the contract also includes health insurance, a two-week vacation package beginning Jan. 1, 2015, and it would enroll Stanley in the city’s Municipal Employee Retirement System defined contribution group.
