Au Gres man killed in accident
Au GRES — A resident of Au Gres was struck by a motor vehicle and killed the morning of June 9 according to Undersheriff Don McIntyre.
According to McIntyre, at approximately 8:52 a.m. Randy Ray Arquette, 35, of Au Gres was reportedly lying in the middle of Manor Road when an eastbound Ford F-150 struck him.
Arquette was taken to St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital and flown by a helicopter to the Covenant Cooper Hospital where he was pronounced dead, McIntyre said.
The Arenac County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the accident. No other injuries were reported, and no citations or charges have been brought up at this time. It is also currently unknown why Arquette was lying in the road, McIntyre said.
