A quarter auction hosted by the Arenac County Celebration Committee was held at the Town & Country Lounge in Au Gres April 9. The event, which was a fundraiser for the July 4 fireworks show, saw participants bidding on items with quarters, which represented certain dollar amounts. After people bid with quarters, they raised their paddles to signify they were bidding, and if their number was drawn, they won the item. About 100 people attended the quarter auction.
