AuGres-Sims superintendent resigns
AuGRES — At the recent AuGres-Sims Board of Education meeting Nov. 1, Superintendent Anne Doriean submitted her resignation and is retiring.
Doriean, who has served as superintendent since 2009, said in a statement that she is resigning for “strictly personal reasons” and said she was thankful for the opportunity to work with the school district.
“Although I wish the timing could have been different, I am committed to ensuring that an interim superintendent makes a smooth transition into the job over the next few weeks,” said Doriean in her statement.
School Board President Douglas Furtah said that the board was able to “set things in motion” to prevent any problems during the transition.
The identity of her replacement has not been confirmed, but Furtah said that the position has been offered to someone known to the community, district, and the school board, who is very enthusiastic.
