AuGres-Sims to discuss budget at next board meeting

AUGRES — The AuGres-Sims school budget will be under discussion at the next school board meeting Monday, April 26.

Superintendent Anne Doriean said they will be talking about budget cuts but will not take any action at the meeting.

“We’ll be discussing possibilities,” she said.

Doriean said that the board is waiting on more numbers to come in before making any decisions on possible cuts. Any cuts that will be made will most likely be acted upon at the May school board meeting.

The school board meeting will be held at the AuGres-Sims High School library at 7 p.m. April 26.

If you are a student at AGS and don't like the cuts, there's always school of choice. Just go to AE.

Why? AE just pink slipped two of the best teachers in the Middle/High school to meet their budget needs.

Was it to meet budget needs or shrinking enrollment? The two unfortunately go hand in hand in today's school funding picture.

By the way, who were the teachers, if you can say.
