Betty Jane (Brown) Blanchard, 79, of Twining, passed away peacefully at home, Jan. 29, 2014.
Betty was born Dec. 13, 1934, to George and Mary (Leiber) Brown.
Betty loved spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, camping and cooking. She spent many days cooking for her family and friends. Betty was a life member of IRENE Rebecca’s and Good News Ministries Lutheran Church. She served as the clerk of Turner Township and clerk for the Village of Twining for many years.
Betty leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years, Douglas Blanchard; children, Lonnie (Pete) Blanchard, Anthony (Tony) Blanchard, Lynn and John Schissler, and John and Patti Blanchard; loving grandma to Doug, Mark, Billy, Beth, Craig, Allison, Ryan, and Eric; great-grandma to seventeen; sister, Mary Ann Rashotte, Dolores Jennings; sister-in-law, Ruth Brown; brothers-in-law, Clayton Blanchard and Michael Blanchard; many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Brown; brother, William (Bill) Brown and daughter-in-law, Karen Blanchard.
Visitation for Betty will take place 5-8 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 30, and 2-8 p.m. Fri., Jan. 31, at the C.L. Forshee & Sons Funeral Homes, Inc., Twining Chapel. Funeral Service will take place 11 a.m. Sat., Feb. 1, at the funeral home with visitation from 10-11. Deacon Jack Rohn and Mr. Rick R. Rockwell will officiate.
Interment will follow in Cedar Valley Cemetery.
