Celtic band scheduled to perform in Standish March 12
STANDISH — Just a few days before St. Patrick’s Day, Irish and Celtic music will fill the Northeast Art Center in Standish when Equinox takes the stage Sunday, March 12.
Equinox is comprised of musicians from the Tri-Cities area, including multi-instrumentalist Vern Pococke, vocalist and flutist Jean Marie Learman, bagpipe player Bob Pennington, fiddler Leslie Gregory and Kathy Morris, who plays guitar and sings. Equinox is also commonly joined by dancer and percussionist Liz Sauer.
The band plays traditional Celtic music infused with guitars, mandolins and Middle Eastern and East African percussion, according to a press release from the Northeast Michigan Arts Council.
Equinox is scheduled to take the stage at 2 p.m. Tickets go on sale at the art center starting at 1:30 p.m. the day of the show. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $4 for students and $2 for children 12 and younger.
