Choraleers concluding spring concert series Sunday

STANDISH — The Arenac Choraleers’ spring concert series titled “With a Voice of Singing” will close Sunday, May 4 with a show at the Standish-Sterling Central High School auditorium.

A press release from the Northeast Michigan Arts Council said the program will crisscross between early and contemporary musical styles, and include sacred and secular pieces. Several of the program’s selections were arranged by choir director Mark Lundgren of Omer.

The 50-member choir includes members from Arenac, Bay, Iosco and Ogemaw counties. Singers will be accompanied by pianist Barb LaRose, of Omer.

An afterglow is scheduled to be held after the concert.

The Choraleers’ program is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and students and $3 for children 5-12. Tickets are available at Wilson’s Cheese Shoppe in Pinconning and at the art center, which is located at the corner of US-23 and Grove Road in Standish.
