Commissioners reschedule May meetings

ARENAC COUNTY — Due to the May 4 school elections in Arenac County, the Arenac County Board of Commissioners have rescheduled their May meetings and will now meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.

Board Chairman Raymond Daniels said April 26 that the board will meet May 11 and 25, as opposed to the board’s normal meeting schedule of the first and third Tuesdays of the month. He said that the starting times for the meetings would remain unchanged. The board convenes at 9 a.m. on meeting dates to meet as a committee of the whole, and then reconvenes at 1:30 p.m. for its regular meeting.

Daniels said Clerk Ricky Rockwell asked the board if it would consider switching the meeting dates due to the school election. Daniels also said the board did not want to meet on consecutive Tuesdays, hence the switch to May 11 and 25.
