County under high wind advisory


A National Weather Service advisory is warning Arenac County residents of high winds today.

The advisory, which went into effect at 11 a.m. on Monday, will remain in effect until midnight. It calls for gusts of wind up to 45 miles per hour, and sustained winds at 30 mph.

According to the weather service, the winds are strong enough to make driving difficult and will be the most severe in open areas, especially hilltops.

Also, spotters are encouraged to pass on rainfall and wind reports to the national weather service.
