Don’t forget about Mom this Sunday

This Sunday is Mother’s Day, and it’s a great time to take a few minutes to show your mother just how much you appreciate her.

Being a mother is a tough job. And unlike a typical 9 to 5 job, a mother’s job never ends. The only pay a mother receives for her hard work is the love and esteem of her children. So this Mother’s Day, remember to show your mom how grateful you are for everything she does.

Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1908. It was founded by Anna Jarvis of Pennsylvania, who held a memorial for her mother in America. After campaigning to make Mother’s Day a national holiday, Jarvis was successful in 1914, and it has since been adopted by other countries and is celebrated around the world.

According to Hallmark, Mother’s Day is the third-largest card sending holiday in the United States. More than 140 million cards are exchanged annually to celebrate the holiday. It’s also the second most popular holiday for gift

And while a card or a gift is great, and will likely be received happily by any mother, we hope everyone takes the time to really show their mother how much they appreciate her this year. Make a phone call. Stop by and visit. Your mother has devoted a large part of her life to help make you the person that you are today.

So show her how much her love, dedication and efforts mean this Mother’s Day. And don’t forget to offer the same recognition the other 364 days a year. After all, while we only celebrate it one day a year, a mother’s job lasts 365 days. And she never gets a vacation.
