Family concert coming to NEMAC


STANDISH –– The Northeast Michigan Arts Council is hosting a family concert Feb. 18 featuring the award-winning act Gemini.

The family friendly show will feature twin brothers San and Laz Slomovits as well as members of their own families. According to the arts council press release, the show is intended for ages 3-99 and will include sing-along songs, hand motion tunes and folk tales.

Gemini uses a wide range of instruments in its shows including the mandolin, harmonica, fiddle, guitar and various percussion instruments to introduce children to new and interesting styles of music.

Gemini has won numerous awards since its debut in 1973, including from Parent Choice Magazine, the American Library Association, National Parenting Publications and the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts, according to the group’s website.
