Hall scheduled for preliminary exam July 16
BAY CITY — The Bentley man who was allegedly caught in the act of breaking and entering by two Gibson Township residents June 2 is scheduled for a preliminary exam in Bay County’s 74th District Court July 16.
Daniel Hall, 19, appeared in district court for a settlement conference Friday, June 27. During the settlement conference, the defense requested that a preliminary examination be set according to information obtained from the court.
Hall faces two counts of first-degree home invasion and two counts of larceny from a building. He is alleged to have broken into two homes in Bentley June 2 and to have stolen pills and cigarettes. According to the police report from the incident, residents of both homes saw Hall in or around their homes, with the second one holding him at gunpoint until the police came.
During the alleged home invasions and larcenies, Hall was out on bond for a previous breaking and entering charge, which he pleaded guilty to in April. He was originally scheduled to be sentenced on that charge June 9, but according to information from 18th Circuit Court in Bay County, sentencing in that case is now scheduled for July 7.
