Improving AE spikers fall at Posen

POSEN -- Arenac Eastern was swept in three straight games by Posen in high school volleyball action Thursday, Sept. 10. The host Vikings won by scores of 25-12, 25-20, 25-19.

AE coach Hannah Neil said Posen has a talented team but that her team showed improvement during the course of the match.

"Today we traveled to Posen and they are a hard team to beat," Neil said. "With the new set up for defense the girls are more confident on receiving the serves."

The Eagles are still winless on the young season, but Neil said her team is continuing to show improvement every time they stop on the court.

"Even though the girls have not taken a match, they are improving with each game," Neil said. "Volleys are getting longer and the serves are more consistent."

Erin Ecker had a solid overall match again Posen as she registered three kills, three digs and 20 assists.

The Eagles' Kaylee Wilson had 16 assists, Maddie Forshee and Heather Norton each had 14 assists, Tiffany Micacle had 12 assists, Maze Mahon three service aces and eight assists, and Sara Wenkel two kills and four assists.
