Iosco County crash claims one life

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP — Ranee Marie Cramer, 51, of AuGres, passed away due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident early Sunday morning.

A release from the Michigan State Police Post in Tawas said that at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Oct. 25, Cramer and Larry James Shuart, 48, of Hale, were traveling southbound on Long Lake Road near Rose City Road in Plainfield Township when they lost control of the vehicle they were traveling in.

The MSP release alleged neither were wearing seatbelts and that both were ejected from the vehicle. They were transported to Tawas St. Joseph’s Health System Hospital where Cramer succumbed to injuries from the crash. Shuart was transferred to St. Mary’s of Saginaw for treatment.

An investigation into the incident is continuing and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident. The Plainfield Township Fire Department and Iosco County EMS assisted MSP troopers on the scene.
