BAY CITY — John Glenn's Lauren Bluhm surpassed the career 1,000-point plateau as the Bobcats defeated Whittemore-Prescott 61-32 in an NEMC girls' basketball game on Tuesday.

The Cardinals, who called up Emily Forton and Staci Ostrander from the JV squad after their varsity numbers dwindled to six, fell behind 17-3 after the first quarter but played relatively competitively the rest of the way.

Bluhm scored 11 of her game-high 20 points in the first quarter and had 15 at the half.

Forton led the Cards in scoring with nine points, including a pair of second quarter 3-pointers, while Ostrander had a team-high four steals. Cory Durham added seven points and 12 rebounds.

Glenn improved to 8-7 (3-4 NEMC) while the Cards dropped to 1-13, 0-6.
