Lincoln Road’s I-75 bridge to be reduced to one lane for work

DEEP RIVER TWP. — Lincoln Road at I-75 will be reduced to one lane as the Michigan Department of Transportation performs bridgework from Aug. 19 until about Aug. 29.

There will be no lane restrictions on I-75 during the length of the project. According to Anita Richardson, MDOT spokeswoman, work will be suspended between Aug. 22 and Aug. 26, but the road will still be reduced to one lane during that time.

Richardson said the bridge deck will be patched during that time, and the approaches to the bridge itself will be repaired to make the ride smoother.

“The goal is to improve ride quality and safety, and to preserve the structure,” Richardson said.

She said the project is estimated to cost $50,000, paid by MDOT.
