AuGRES — A 55-year-old Livonia man is currently in the Arenac County Jail after police allegedly confiscated three-quarters of a pound of marijuana during an undercover narcotics operation.

Sheriff’s deputies, with the help of the Strike Team Investigative Narcotics Group of West Branch, arrested Martin Dunne, and the Arenac County Sheriff’s Department reportedly seized the marijuana near AuGres on Thursday, Feb. 24. Undersheriff Donald McIntyre said.

McIntyre said that Dunne was arrested after allegedly selling approximately a half-pound of marijuana in AuGres. He added after a search of Dunne’s vehicle, another quarter-pound of marijuana was allegedly discovered.

“This was another great job by STING and Sheriff’s deputies to get drugs off the streets in Arenac County,” McIntyre said.

Dunne was arraigned in district court on Feb. 25, and charged with intent to deliver marijuana. Bond has been set at $50,000.
