Medical marijuana moratorium accepted, recycling program tabled

STANDISH — The Standish City council accepted City Ordinance No. 246, on Thursday June 17, 2010.

The ordinance allows the city to put a six-month moratorium on the issuance of medical marijauna sales permits and dispensaries of the drug within the city.

The City Council was also set to vote on a citywide recycling program, but ended up tabling it until the next meeting so it could be discussed more.

The program was not well received by those in the crowd at city hall.
