DEEP RIVER TWP. — A Chevrolet S-10 was involved in a rollover accident Sept. 27 on Grove Road north of Sterling Road, but the driver suffered only minor injuries.

According to Undersheriff Don McIntyre, the truck was driving northbound on Grove at approximately 2:30 p.m. when it hit the gravel on the side of the road. McIntyre said the driver appears to have overcorrected, causing a rollover.

The driver was wearing a seat belt, and only suffered minor injuries, McIntyre said. He added seat belts are invaluable during rollover accidents, as they can prevent the occupants from being ejected from the car and seriously injured.

The Arenac County Sheriff’s Department and the Sterling Area Fire Department responded to the accident.

An MMR ambulance took the driver away for medical treatment. Further information is unavailable at this time.
