Pinconning man killed in hit-and-run

PINCONNING — A Pinconning resident was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run, according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Department.

According to Lt. Jim Chlebowski, David Twining, 59, of Pinconning appeared to have been killed by a vehicle at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning on Coggins Road near M-13. By the time law enforcement arrived, there was no vehicle nearby.

Chlebowski said the sheriff’s department has a suspect, and spoke to an area woman about the accident. Her car was impounded and is being processed for evidence, he said, but she is not being held or charged at this time.

Chlebowski said the incident is still under investigation. He said the sheriff’s department is not sure why Twining was on the roadway.
