Pinny girls lose to Bay City Central
PINCONNING — The Pinconning girls basketball team came up a bit short against Bay City Central Tuesday night, losing 50-48.
“We actually played quite well until the final couple of minutes, when our youth and inexperience caused us to panic a little too much in our end,” said coach Joe Herek.
Herek said Central went ahead 50-48 with 28 seconds remaining in the game.
“We came down and got two very good shots off, but didn’t score,” he said.
Jessica Vidalez was the top scorer for the Spartans, with 18 points. Chelsea Adcock and Lauren Look both had eight points.
Herek said it is the defense that needs to improve.
“We are young, but we have a very good attitude,” he said.
Pinconning is currently 2-7 on the season.
