Potentially dangerous weather expected in the area this afternoon

Higher wind warning in effect from 10 p.m. Sunday through 7 a.m. Monday

MICHIGAN -- The National Weather Service is warning of potentially dangeous weather that is expected to move through the state late Sunday into Monday as a strong cold front moves through the area. 

A warning from the NWS calls for a "major fall storm."

Winds as high as 60 miles per hour are possible. 

In addition, a tornado watch was issued Sunday for all of the Lower Peninsula until 8 p.m.

...A MAJOR FALL STORM BEARING DOWN ON NORTHERN MICHIGAN...

.STRONG LOW PRESSURE WILL CROSS EASTERN UPPER MICHIGAN LATER
TODAY...THEN CONTINUE NORTHEAST INTO CANADA BY MONDAY. THIS SYSTEM
WILL BRING WARMTH...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO NORTHERN MICHIGAN
TODAY THROUGH EARLY EVENING. SOME STORMS MAY BE SEVERE ACROSS
NORTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN ESPECIALLY TOWARD SAGINAW BAY. THE WARM
WEATHER WILL BE SHORT LIVED HOWEVER...AS A STRONG COLD FRONT
RUSHES THROUGH THIS EVENING. THIS WILL BRING MUCH COLDER AND VERY
