Proceeds from golf outing to fund hospital equipment purchases
STANDISH — Monies raised at the St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital Auxiliary’s annual golf outing at the Pine River Golf Club June 13 will help with future equipment purchases.
SMMSH Community Relations Director Holly Shillair said the tournament has helped the hospital buy various pieces of equipment in the past.
“Proceeds from last year’s tournament were used to purchase a ventilator for the respiratory department,” she said.
Registration for the tournament begins at 8 a.m. and there will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m., Shillair said. The cost per foursome is $300, she said.
“We can take up to 36 teams, and we still have a few slots available,” she said.
Registration includes 18 holes of golf and a meal at the end of the scramble, according to Shillair.
“We actually have food on the course, and then we have a dinner at the end of the tournament,” she said.
Shillair said the top golfers in the tournament will not go home emptyhanded.
“There are prizes for first and second place in the men’s, women’s and mixed categories,” she said.
Raffles and drawings will also be held throughout the event, Shillair said.
