SSC dominates Lady Cards in NEMC opener

STANDISH — Standish-Sterling overwhelmed an outnumbered Whittemore-Prescott girls' track team 106-13 in both teams' NEMC dual opener on Wednesday.

SSC won all 15 events that were contested. They included Ashley Pickvet, Sara Stanley, Leah LaLonde and Areall Johnson in the 4x800 relay (12:30.75); Ashlyn Gulvas in the discus (108-8) and shot put (43-10); Kelsey Daniel in the high jump (4-2); Katie Ouillette in the long jump (14-7.5) and 400 (1:04.41); Jennifer Lentz in the 100 hurdles (18.21) and 300 hurdles (53.30); Chelsea Szostak in the 100 (12.91); Jessica Cousins, Daniel, Ouillette and Szostak in the 4x200 (1:58.01); Pickvet tin the 1600 (6:39.69) and 800 (2:54.49); Jessica Cousins, Sarah Cousins, Maddison Kusey and Lentz in the 4x100 (56.66); Stanley in the 3200 (15:04.03); and Gulvas, Lentz, Ouillette and Szostak in the 4x400 (4:22.81).

W-P's top finishers were Staci Ostrander, in the 400 (2nd, 1:14.10) and 800 (3:00.90), and Jessica Dietzel, in the 300 hurdles (1:00.46).

Second-place W-P relays were Ostrander, Chelsea MacDonald, Matuszak and Ostrander in the 4x800 (13:12.72), Billie Jo Klimaszewski, Shelby Karasch, Victoria Doebler and Madison Matuszak in the 4x200 (2:20.65); Dietzel, Doebler, Matuszak and Snowy DeCaen in the 4x100 (1:00.20); and Ostrander, Dietzel, Matuszak and DeCaen in the 4x400 (5:43.84).
