SSC girls coast to 4-1

STANDISH — Lincoln Alcona came to the Panthers’ gym on Dec. 15 and the Lady Panthers coasted to 71-45 win over the Tigers.

“We had control from the beginning, however we had to work hard for everything. Our offense put up a lot of points but nothing came easy,” said Standish-Sterling coach Kevin King. “Their post player put up 17 points on us in the first half and we held her scoreless in the second.”

Leading the Panthers’ charge was Abbye Gulvas, who knocked down three three-pointers as part of her 16-point night. Kelsye Mielke scored 13 for SSC.

SSC takes on Tawas on Dec. 17.
