SSC girls win season opener, Pinny unsuccessful in first contest

Girls’ basketball teams from Standish-Sterling Central High School and Pinconning High School took to the court on Dec. 1.

SSC took on the Saginaw Michigan Lutheran Seminary team on the road, and topped its opponent by 10 points, winning 55-45.

Pinconning wasn’t as fortunate in its season opener in the Bay County Tournament, as Bangor John Glenn eked out a win over the Spartans, 40-38.

Both games were non-conference.
