Spartans defeat Panthers, 28-18

PINCONNING — The weather wasn't the best, but it didn't darken the spirits of the Pinconning High School football team as the Spartans celebrated homecoming Friday, Oct. 2, with a 28-18 win over Standish-Sterling Central.

The Spartans improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the Northeast Michigan Conference with the victory, setting up a one-game showdown with Ogemaw Heights next Friday in West Branch for the conference championship.

SSC, meanwhile, slipped to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the NEMC after the loss.
