St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Women’s Expo attracts about 150 guests
STANDISH — According to Holly Bender, Community Relations Manager at St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish, the hospital’s Women’s Expo saw an increase in attendance from the previous year.
Bender said about 150 people showed up at this year’s expo on Saturday, Nov. 20 in the main lobby of the hospital. According to a flyer promoting the expo, the event featured presentations on such topics as diabetes, heart health, breast cancer awareness, and nutrition. In addition, flu shots were available at the expo for a cost of $30, according to Bender.
“We had an excellent turnout,” she said. “It was higher than last year.”
Bender said this is the third year that the hospital has sponsored the expo. In addition to the presentations, she said a total of 27 vendors were on hand that day throughout the hospital with various products and services.
“It’s a day geared toward women,” she said.
She said the hospital staff is scheduled to review the event in the future.
“We’ll do a wrap-up meeting and make some improvements for next year,” Bender said.
