String of break-ins in Deep River

DEEP RIVER TWP. — A series of break-ins that occurred over the first weekend of the month on Franklin Trail in Deep River Township are under investigation by the Arenac County Sheriff’s Department.

Four houses were broken into between Friday, Feb. 3 and Monday, Feb. 6, according to Arenac County Undersheriff Don McIntyre. Two houses were uninhabited at the time, while law enforcement received calls about the other two break-ins the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 7.

McIntyre said there are no suspects at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. He added physical evidence has been gathered, and the sheriff’s department is working with the Michigan State Police to come up with suspects.
