Suspects in Tawas City break-ins arrested in AuGres
AuGRES — Suspects have been apprehended in AuGres after allegedly being caught on a surveillance video in connection with several break-ins that have occurred at a Tawas City Muffler Man.
Since Nov. 13, several break-ins have been reported at a Tawas City Muffler Man and on Dec. 10, the suspects were arrested in Arenac County.
According to the Arenac County Sheriff’s Office, deputies on patrol in AuGres on Dec. 10 observed a truckload of tires being driven southbound on US-23. Knowing new tires were stolen from the Muffler Man storage units, due to photographs distributed to local law enforcement agencies in Iosco County and surrounding areas, the deputies made a stop.
The Ogemaw County Sheriff’s Department had identified the suspects, Dale Price and Todd Wymer, both of Flint, and the two men were the occupants in the truck pulled over by Arenac County deputies.
According to a release from Tawas Police Authority Chief Mark Ferguson, questioning of Price and Wymer resulted in an admission that they were involved with a Muffler Man break-in. They were arrested and lodged at Iosco County Jail on one count of Breaking and Entering each.
The two are suspects in the prior incidents that have occurred at Muffler Man and an investigation is ongoing.
