Au GRES — The Knoll View Golf Course played host to the Arenac Community Fund’s annual golf outing May 17.

Teams gathered at the course shortly before 10 a.m. ACF Committee Chairman Garrett Geer thanked everyone for coming and supporting the fund financially, as tickets to play were $400 per team, or $100 for individuals. The money raised goes toward the ACF’s endowment fund, which in turn is used to award grants to local groups and communities.

Prizes, such as a car lease and vouchers for other county golf courses, were also given out at specific holes if golfers were able to successfully complete the hole within a specific number of shots.

Prior to the outing, Geer told the Independent that the golf outing typically raises between $7,500 and $9,000 each year with around 18-20 teams, though this year they are hoping to see 24 or more teams on the green.

Attendees witnessed a brief presentation of a community service award to Forward Corporation CEO Terry McTaggart for his support of the ACF over the years.
