Tribe to distribute over $600k

STANDISH TOWNSHIP — Saginaw-Chippewa Indian Tribe Public Relations Director Frank Cloutier said the Tribe will disperse $622,000 May 28 during its next installment of two percent class-3 gaming revenue sharing.

Since the opening of the Saganing Eagle’s Landing Casino New Year’s Day 2008, the Tribe has doled out nearly $2.5 million as part of its promise to share casino revenues with the local community. Two percent funds are allocated each May and November, with monies being allotted to local units of government, school districts, fire departments and other community groups in Arenac and Northern Bay counties.

Two percent distribution begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Saganing Tribal Center in Standish Township.
