UPDATE: Kelly status conference adjourned
Former Standish City Manager Tori Kelly was scheduled to appear in front of Judge Alan Yenior in 81st District Court for a status conference on March 30 as part of the proceeding to prosecute the former manager on several charges of willful neglect of duty and embezzlement by the City of Standish.
The status conference was moved after special prosecution failed to appear. Kelly is now scheduled to appear April 13 for a meeting with prosecution at 8:30 a.m. and, if trial ensues, proceedings will continue at 9 a.m.
Kelly was officially fired by Standish City Council in October and prior to that, in May of last year, was suspended with pay. Her actions were brought to light at a city council meeting the same day she was fired – Oct. 8 – by Labor and Employment Attorney Elizabeth Peters. Peters’ presentation to city council included e-mail records and instances of tax dollar misappropriations made by the former employee.
