W-P goes 4-1 at Farwell

FARWELL — Whittemore-Prescott turned in its most successful tournament performance of the season Saturday, winning four of five matches at the Farwell Team Dual Challenge to claim the second place trophy.

The Cards defeated Forest Area 36-27, Breckenridge 54-12, Farwell's "B" squad 65-18 and Pine River 60-18. W-P's only loss was a decisive one, 70-4 to St. Louis.

Chance Rattie (135 pounds) went unbeaten on the day while Jacob Panetta (125), Derek Salgat (130), Scott Garnett (145) and Andy Steele (285) all went 4-1. Cody Lucynski (119) also provided a highlight, pinning his opponent with the match on the line against Forest Area.

The Cardinals host John Glenn and Ogemaw Heights on Wednesday to open up the NEMC dual meet season.
