WHITTEMORE — The Lady Cardinals welcomed conference foe Bangor John Glenn Wednesday night. Although they played a tough match, W-P couldn’t handle the depth and skill of the Bobcats as it lost in straight sets (25-15, 25-15, 25-13).

“Despite the obvious loss, we did have some great moments of play,” Coach Helen Loomis said. “Especially in the first game.”

Loomis described the difficulty in playing a school of this size and location.

“Club and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) volleyball (are) an easy opportunity for their players,” said Loomis.

Loomis says the team (0-3, 2-5) will remain positive and look to get their third win Friday Sept. 17 when they take on conference rival Ogemaw Heights.

W-P stats: Cortney Bork – 4 digs/2 spike kills; Kayla Camp – 12 assists; Chelsea Jasman – 5 points/1 ace/2 block kills/4 spike kills; Leighanna Loomis – 11 digs/2 spike kills; Larissa McGeathy – 2 block kills/4 spike kills; Chloe Moraitis – 4 digs/2 spike kills; Brittney Winkle – 4 points.
