ALCONA — As a late addition to the ticket, the Lady Cardinals traveled to Lincoln-Alcona Monday night for match-ups with Lincoln-Alcona and Arenac Eastern.

W-P squared off with Arenac Eastern and took the first two games problem free (25-9, 25-8).

In the second match, the Lady Cards played the host Tigers to a 1-1 split. The first game was a lot of back and forth action, in which critical errors and unfavorable calls hurt the Cards, dropping the game 26-24.

The second game saw W-P gain some resilience with tough serves, against the will of the crowd, and notch a 25-13 win.

“Overall, the girls played better tonight,” Coach Helen Loomis said. “They overcame a tough crowd in the match against Alcona.”

W-P Stats: Cortney Bork – 10 points/4 aces/14 digs; Kayla Camp – 15 points/7 aces/19 assists; Chelsea Jasman – 1 block-kill/8 digs/10 spike-kills; Leighanna Loomis – 14 points/3 aces/9 digs/6 spike-kills; Larrissa McGeathy – 10 points/4 aces/6 spike-kills; Chloe Moraitis – 7 digs/4 spike-kills.

W-P (0-4, 4-9-1) will travel to Pinconning Sept. 24 for a NEMC conference match-up.
