William A. Hartman Jr.

William Andres Hartman Jr., 92, of Standish, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Horizon Senior Living of Standish.
He was born on December 29, 1921 in Lincoln Township, to the late William Sr. and Mary (Schwab) Hartman. He married the love of his life, Donna in Oct. 1942, recently celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. She predeceased him on Jan. 6, 2014. Bill owned and operated Hartman Farm Supply of Standish. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Standish and St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hillman. Bill enjoyed golfing, traveling, hunting, watching sports and played on local baseball leagues becoming a member of the North Eastern Baseball League and being inducted in the Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his children a son, Michael (Cora) Hartman; daughter, Laurice (Bob) LaZebnik; grandchildren, Janet (Kurt) Schmautz and Jennifer (Dave) Hauschild; great-grandchildren, Brian and Jason Schmautz.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Leonard, Lawrence, Hattie, Sally, Esther and Gilbert Hartman, and Rose, Rudy and Rich Schmidt.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Standish with Pastor Matthew Dent presiding with burial in Woodmere Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m. On Friday, Bill will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
