Died Sept. 7, 2018


Arthur G. McLincha, 96, of Bentley passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at his residence.

Art was born March 4, 1922, in Bentley to the late Allen and Grace (Faulds) McLincha. He married Ellen Sanch Sept. 21, 1946, in Standish. Ellen passed away June 2, 1976. Art worked as a pipe insulator for Dow Chemical from 1946-1976. He was also a farmer most of his life. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nine Mile, Pinconning. Art served in World War II from Oct. 22, 1942, through Nov. 25, 1945. He was a staff sergeant for the U.S. Army. Art served in the Pacific and received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star. He lived on his beloved farm for 58 years. Later in life he cherished his rides around his farm. He also enjoyed gardening and driving to the cemetery to visit Ellen’s grave for daily visits.

Special love and thanks to his granddaughter, Stacey Gasiciel, who was his sidekick and buddy. She was instrumental in his care for years. They had a very special relationship that was greatly appreciated.

Art is survived by his three children, Robert (Patricia) McLincha, Connie (Junior) McGillen and Nancy Howard; nine grandchildren; Lona (Dave) Litson, Michelle (Zack) Freeman, Stacey (Greg) Gasiciel, Tracy (Brian) Taylor, Jeffrey McGillen, Tami McGillen, Toni (Wade) Sullivan, Brian (Amber) Howard and Jason (Lisa Jubar) Howard; and 19 great-grandchildren, Elly Reid, Juston Litson, Ashley Kocot, Lauryn (Chris) McNett, Addison Jasik, Joe Gasiciel, Tess Gasiciel, Kelsey Taylor, Kyle Taylor, Taz McGillen, Sadie (Drew) Anderson, Zack Booth, Hunter McGillen, Caiden Zimmerman, Lila Sullivan, Chloe Howard, Easton Howard, Nathan Jubar and Hayden Howard. Art is survived by a sister, Margaret Love; and special friends, Jerry and Brenda Barbrett.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond McLincha, Roy McLincha and Frank McLincha; one sister, Francis Currie; one son-in-law, Percy Howard; two sisters-in-law, Doris McLincha and Jean McLincha; and one brother-in-law, Wayne Love.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel with Elder Keith Chapman officiating and burial in Gibson Township Cemetery, Bentley. The family will greet family and friends Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 2-8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at 11 a.m.
