Carol J. Schrader

Died Aug. 23, 2017

Carol Jean Schrader, 78, of Twining, formerly of Prescott and Port Huron, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, in her home with her family by her side.

She was born Dec. 29, 1938, in Port Huron to the late Marion Elizabeth (Fogal) Henderson and Charles Glenn Henderson. After the death of her father in 1945, Carol was blessed to be raised by her loving mother and wonderful stepfather, Roy C. “Pappy” Warren. Carol attended Port Huron area schools and graduated from Port Huron High School in 1956. She married Norman E. Schrader on Dec. 15, 1978, in West Branch. Carol was employed with several different retail businesses over the years and worked side by side with her husband Norm for many years running the Prescott Bar in Prescott. She enjoyed country and gospel music, but her greatest enjoyment came from the time she spent with family and friends, especially spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Norman; her children, Robert (Sherry) Archibald, Jodi (Gary) Moss, Timothy Schrader, Kathi (Steve) Gossman, Sherri (John) Pavlik, Paul (Tricia) Schrader and Vicki (Mike) DeBoever; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and stepfather; and her brother and only sibling, Richard Glenn Henderson.

According to Carol’s wishes and that of her family, cremation has taken place, and she will be interred at Clayton Cemetery. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at her home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Heartland Hospice, 546 Progress St., West Branch, MI 48661. Online condolences may be offered at
