Carolyn J. (Umphrey) Cousins, 83, of Sterling passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at The Horizon Senior Living center in Standish, with her family by her side.

She was born Jan. 3, 1935, in Bentley, to the late John F. and Muriel A. (Lehman) Umphrey. Carolyn married Henry “Hank” Cousins on June 16, 1956. She worked at Standish Products until it closed. Carolyn loved playing card games and going to Family Fare and Burger King. But, most of all, she loved family get-togethers. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Carolyn is survived by her five children, Melva David, Ron Cousins, John (Cheri) Cousins, Robert (Charlene) Cousins and Jim (Shelby) Cousins. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Henry; sister, Violet (Umphrey) Fortin; brother, David Umphrey; daughter-in-law, Robin Cousins; son-in-law, Gordon Davis; and her dear grandson, Johnny H. Cousins.

Carolyn’s family would like to thank her personal staff at The Horizon Senior Living center for their dedication in caring for her.

According to Carolyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No memorial service is planned at this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel.
