Posted

STANDISH — Fans of Irish or Celtic music can get their fill Sunday, Nov. 12, when Jean Marie and the Lads perform at the Northeast Art Center in Standish.

A press release from the Northeast Michigan Arts Council states the concert is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

“Jean Marie weaves threads of emotion and humor into a musical quilt that warms and comforts listeners with her beautiful voice and lyrical phrasing,” the press release stated. “Whether she is singing ballads from contemporary songwriters, favorites from years past or her original works, Jean Marie invites the audience to fall into her songs and become a part of the story.”

Musicians Colin Paige and Mark Szabo will accompany Jean Marie, who is also a member of Equinox, which performs annually at the art center, typically around St. Patrick’s Day.

Tickets will be sold at the art center the day of the concert. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $4 for students and $2 for children 12 and younger. For more information, contact the art center at 989-846-9331 or visit nemiac.org.

The art center is located at 3233 Grove St. in Standish.
