Donald T. Spresny, 58, of Standish passed away Sept. 13, 2017.

He was born July 30, 1959, in Bay City to Donald and Grace (Diamond) Spresny. He served his country as a corporal on Marine Helicopter Squadron One from 1979-1983. He married Cori Miller on July 7, 1979. Trained as an EMT/paramedic, dispatcher and firefighter, Don dedicated his life to emergency services. He enjoyed hunting and restoring firearms. His ham radio call sign was KC8QMD.

Surviving besides his wife of 38 years are their children, Donald H. Spresny (Brandi) of Alabama and Lisa M. North (Doug) of Saginaw; grandchildren Emilee, Landon, Liam and Charlotte; parents, Donald and Grace Spresny; brother David (Simone) Spresny and their daughter Marissa; in-laws, Robert and Donna Miller; and brothers-in-law, Robert (Tammy) Miller and Randy Miller.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Standish Area Fire Authority, Station 12, 209 Industrial, Standish. Pastor Robert Schmidt officiated. Donald lay in-state at Station 12 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Full military honors were bestowed. Cremation followed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those considering an expression of sympathy consider the family wishes. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel, Standish.
